Shungite is a black gemstone that is more than 2 billion years old. It looks like coal and has a unique structure between amorphous (non-crystallic) and stone.*

Also, it has been used since the 18th century for medical treatments. Peter the Great founded the first Russian spa in Karelia and there, used the water purifying qualities of shungite.
